Audio Device Missing!..Plz help!
Hello...
Am using an IBM thinkpad version R50e.. just some couple of days back my sound disappeared all of a sudden, all i do hear is an occasional "beep" frm my speakers.Under the device manager i do see 1)audio codecs 2)legacy audio drivers 3)legacy video capture device 4)media control device 5)video codecs . But in the control panel under the sound option, there is no sound device being identified... I have no idea if its the fault with my sound card or is it the driver also where do i get the proper driver from??(i tried MS and ibm sites but in vain)... If anybody could be of any help.. my sincere thanx to them in advance... |

Hi soul_mate and welcome to Dev Shed.
It could be an issue with the sound card. Have you checked to make sure it is enabled in the BIOS ? You can get the drivers from the Lenovo site, here.

Did you have a look at the site that I linked to above ? There is a lot of handy information on that site, with manuals and drivers.
A lot of systems enter the BIOS in different ways, this link tells you how to enter your BIOS - yours is the top one. It has this : Quote:

and also i downloaded the driver from the lenovo site you suggested... Following the instructions i installed the driver, but its weird that once after the installation is complete it displays an error that "driver not found!,reboot and try again"... SOS!! |
