Building Linux Media Centre

I'm looking to build a Media Centre based on Linux, what I ideal want is:-

* Linux OS
* A recommended Linux GUI
* Abilty To Use A Remote Control
* Abilty To Use A Blue Ray Player
* Ability To Play Music/Movies/Blueray DVD's & Normal
* Abilty To Use A Web Cam with Software that can intract with Windows Messenger and Skype (like Pidgin can do).

Any Suggestions????
