Can't delete from MP3 player
Hi there. I got an MP3 Lyra RD1072A yesterday, which came with a demo song in a folder labled "Demo". I connected my MP3 player to the computer, and transfering the songs wen't smoothly, but when I tried delete the demo folder, and the song in it, it didn't work.
So now, it's stuck on there, and whenever I try, it says that Windows can't access it 'cause it might be in use. Has anybody had this happen before? It's not a big deal, I'm just a bit pissed of that I can't delete the crappy demo song...Marty J.

Did you try deleting a song you uploaded yourself to see that works?
You might be able to delete it from the MP3 player itself. Having an unwanted demo song would be annoying if you wanted to play random shuffle.

Yeah, I've tried deleting songs I uploaded, and that worked fine. : /
Is WindowsMedia the only way to sync songs to the MP3 player? |

Should be able to access it like a drive in My Computer. Copy, delete, etc. like a disk. Is also an article on RCA site that mentions problem with deleting files and that caused by missing files for the player software they ship and some sort of system file update in that player.
Found the following in a forum regarding formatting it. Right click the "e:" (removable) drive in "my computer" Format. (re) Install the Drivers CD Go to "Start > Lyra System > model# > Update" Note that your drive letter may not be E: If you do copy straight to it (not 100% sure yours that you can copy straight, I had similiar player) it is likely to have limitations on the formats it supports. Didn't you get software with the MP3 player that lets you manage the songs?

Thanks for your help guys. I was able to access the device directly from my computer, and delete the files manually.
