Computer to TV
I know very little about this topic, so bear with me on this.
I've set up a computer in my living room, I am putting a BSD on it and programming it to suit my needs, it will retrieve movies from a computer in another room (the two computers are on the same router) and play them from the computer in the living room. The computer in the living room will have a certain media playing software installed to play the movies it gets, I want these movies to display on our television. I know there are various devices out there that allow me to connect my computer to my TV and cause whatever is occuring on the computer to display on the TV screen, I believe I could also say that the TV would be acting as a computer monitor? I am not quite sure what device I need to purchase. Do they usually include some connector to interface between the computer and TV screen? Does the device to let me interface between my computer and monitor use memory in the way a video card does (for instance, the video card may have 128mb of RAM)? Is this device I am in need of simply a video card with extra features, or is there a device specifically for this job that is not a video card?
I was looking on newegg, is this what I want?

Like I said in the beginning, I really have no clue on this topic . However, I'm sure I explained this adequately so that you can provide me with help on this: I just need to know what to buy.
