Dust on Toner drum
i have had my Brother HL-2040 printer in storage for the last 5 months, i kept in in in my high humidity basement with the toner in a plastic bag next to the printer
now i hooked it up, it printed two pages that were 100% black, now it won't print and says "Dust on Drum", has anyone seen this with a printer? do i just need a new toner cartridge, or can it be cleaned, or is it a faulty printer?

Na, it just sounds like the drum unit needs to be cleaned. A painless task !
Do you still have the user manual for it ? If not, you can download or view the manual from the Brother site

Could be with the humidity that it has damaged the toner and it's sticking and might need to be replaced. |

ok, well i beat that cartridge senseless, I'm guessing that your right high humidity probably destroyed the toner as i can kinda see the outline of what I'm printing so I'm assuming that the rest of the printer is working

Change the cartridge and everything will probably be tickety-boo.
