Echo from Sound Card
Hi All i couldn`t find the answer using a search so here goes
I have a problem, in that when any sound is played on my system there is an echo. I have an on board C media AC 97 audio chipset. I have looked everywhere in an attempt to stop it. I have downloaded the latest driver. I have uninstalled it, rolled it back, but whatever I do I cannot get rid of the echo. I have tried altering the sound characteristics in C media audio configeration. there is no microphone connected and it is disabled in the audio configuration. Any help would be greatly appreciated. regards dcw |

It almost seems as if this could be a utility apart from the driver that does effects running in the background. Seems like the "St. Peter's Cathedral" effect :-) Or one of those things that claims to give you "3-D" sound or such silly thing.
It could be routing the audio to itself but I'd check to make sure you aren't running one of them nifty "audio experience enhancers" first
