Geforce 7600 GS
For whatever reason, the computer will start to log on, but then the monitor will go black after the windows screen (The LED on the monitor turns yellow from green). Can boot into Safe Mode fine though. I think it happens when the video card is changed to SLI mode. When SLI is turned off, I could boot into Windows normally. Any ideas?
Thanks. |

Sounds like you may have a problem with your drivers. Have you tried updating them to the latest version ?

yes.. i had downloaded and installed the newest drivers (i think Nov. 2, 2006). I was looking through their website, and it mentioned something about strong enough power supply, or setting jumpers on motherboard, or setting BIOS up to support it. (Haven't tried these as of yet). Not sure exactly how SLI works. I saw 2 video cards connected together, both with a regular monitor port and both with an additional DVI connector. Didn't know if DVI had to be used for it or both cards had to have a monitor plugged in. |

Yes.. I saw 2 video cards in the computer. (both with a regular monitor port and both with a DVI port.) Inside the computer there was a cable running from one card to the other. When the monitor, plugged into the regular monitor port, was attached to one of the cards, it worked fine (as long as it wasn't in SLI mode). When I plugged the monitor into the other card, it didn't work either. |
