Hi, yesterday night I had put in a couple cathodes into my case and afterwords i turned my computer on. I was busy working with something else when I looked at my screen and it was a light blue. So i restarted my comp and it came up fine. I could click icons and that sort of thing. Then I turned my case and sat it up right, and my screen went to a tiled version of my desktop and I couldn't do anything. So I restarted again and now i just get a blank screen and my mobo, Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR, makes a Long beep followed by several short beeps. I THINK its my video card but I am unsure. My manual from http://us.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Manual/lputnf4%20847505103.pdf
says in the last chapter that those beeps mean either A) Can't find video or B) Something is wrong with the DRAM. Which i have no idea what that is. So I am unsure as to what to do. I'm tempted to take advantage of EVGA's warranty for the card and get a new one but I'm not sure if that's the whole problem. I'm in desperate need for help cause I'm not good at all with trouble shooting computers. |

Hi Pliskin and welcome to Dev Shed.
Firstly, open up your case and make sure that the graphics card is seated correctly - sounds like it could have came out it's socket.

That was actually the first thing I had done, I even had taken the card out and put it in a different slot and it still has the same problem.

Ok I got impatient and went out and borrowed my friends computer. I took out his 6800, with permission, and put it in my computer. It started up fine and I could see the bios and such. So thanks for attempting to solve my problem. I'll use this forum the next time I manage to mess my computer up.

(Stating the obvious here) Looks like your graphics card is faulty. Is it still under warranty ?
