GF 5600 256 mb, or GF 5600 Ultra 128, worth $20?
I have a 2.66 GHz P4 with 512 mb RAM, and I want to upgrade my vid card from the cheap GF 420 I have. On newegg.com they have A GF 5600 with 256 mb DDR for $121.00, and a GF 5600 Ultra with 128 mb DDR for $139.00. I really don't want to spend more than $140, and I'm trying to determine my best option. Which of these (or something else) would be best for gaming (particularly UT), and is the extra $20 worth it?
Help would be highly appreciated. |

Neither is particularly great (though you probably know that, since they are pretty cheap), but the ultra will most likely perform better, its faster clock will make more difference than the extra (slower) ram on the ordinary 5600. Check out the Radeon 9600 pro too. Faster than either, and cheaper than the ultra.
