HDTV-GFX Card Best Quality Connection?

Hi Peoples,

I have a PNY Verto GeForce 6600GT and on friday i treated myself to a HDTV,i'm just wondering about how to get the best quality output to my tv via the card?

The card has the following sockets:

S-Video
DVI
VGA (currently connected to my monitor)

The TV has the following:

Scart
Composite
S-Video
VGA
HDMI
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (whatever that is )

At the moment i've got it connected via the AV port (composite video). Obviously i could get an S-Video cable to go straight from one to the other, but would it make any difference if i used, for instance, a DVI cable with a VGA adapter? Or a HDMI cable with a (if it exists) DVI adapter?

Thanks in advance,

James

Whilst in Tesco yesterday i spotted a HDMI-DVI cable so i thought i might as well buy it, but before i open it, does anyone know whether it'll produce a better picture than an S-Video cable?

Regards,

James

I got bored of waiting and opened it anyway! Picture is MUCH better, it's practically as good as my monitor, only bigger!

I just need to play around with the resolution now (at 1920 x 1080 "Full screen" doesn't actually go full screen :S)

Oh and if anyone's wondering, the cable was £20 and the DVI connector on it is a DVI-D (digital)

The port on my GeForce 6600GT appears to be a DVI-I and so accepts both DVI-D and DVI-I, and DVI-A too i guess
