Hi I recently reformatted my computer and I didn't know that my HP had the recovery section... As you can probably see I am a total NOOB/Newbie... I was wondering if anybody had the recovery disks or know what driver it is that I am supposed to be looking for. My video card was not working either but I have now got that to work. It is only the sound card and a SM bus controller that I need drivers for. Can anybody tell me what a SM bus controller is??? I think the in built soundcard is a AC'97 but I am not sure if that is the driver file name or the actual sound cards name. I have spent many many hours trying to figure this out and I am totally lost. I have contacted tech support days and days ago without any feedback.
Thanks in advance!! |

AC'97 is the built in sound chip. You should drivers on one of the cds that came with the computer. If not, find what chipset you have (probably in manual) and you can get it from http://download.com.com/3150-2120-0.html?tag=dir
For the smbus driver, do as it says at http://www.driverforum.com/controller4/3423.html
