Hp Pavilion notebook help?
me and my friends at school run a hardware/maintenance repair shop at my school during the day. yesterday we stumbled upon an hp pavilion notebook. the problem is that when we boot the computer up, a bunch of lines show up and it almost looks like plaid. we hooked the notebook up to a projector and it allowed us to see what was behind all these lines.
My instructor wondered if the problem could be a virus in the video card or something wrong with the video card. Or could it just be that the screen is broken? |

If you hook the laptop up to an external monitor, and everything is fine, then the chances are, it's the laptop monitor that is the issue. |

Without seeing a screenshot I can't say for sure, but it does sound like the laptop screen has failed.
