I need upgrade Suggestions
Hey guys, i need some suggestions for upgrading my computer. I plan to build a new gaming rig sometime in the future, but i need to get some more power out of my old rig to hold me until then.
this is my stuff currently: -Asus K8V Deluxe Motherboad -AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (754pin) -Radeon 9800XT (256MB) -1GB Corsair Twinx XMS Ram -Soundblaster Audigy 2 I think its time for a new Video card, but as you see, i only have an AGP slot, so i was wondering if you guys could make some suggestions. I want an upgrade, so i don't mind spending a few hundred $$ on a new vid card. i was looking at the XFX GeForce 7600 GT 580MHZ AGP 256MB card.. but i don't know if there is something better, perhaps on the ATI/AMD side of things? Also, this motherboard only has 3 slots for ram, and right now 2 slots are used for the corsair stuff. I dont' know much about ram, but i was wondering if it is worth while putting in another 1gb stick of something (even cheap value ram) or if i should stick to higher end stuff. Also, will that take my current ram out of "Dual Channel" mode? Sorry for making this so long, any help is appreciated!

The GeForce 7600 GT is quite a nice card. I suppose it depends on how much you actually want to spend.
