Issue with video conversion for iPod
Hey,
I did a quick search of 'iPod' in the Dev Shed forums and found a thread that was placed in this multimedia forum, so I thought this would be the best place to post. Anyways, I've just bought an 80Gb video iPod and am having a few problems transferring videos onto it: I converted a video to iPod format using 'Allok Video to iPod converter' - so far so good. However, it wont let me place it in the 'Movies' library in iTunes. This video, though only half an hour long is 120mb, so I'm not sure if its an issue with the way I've transcoded it - I have a video (which I did not transcode myself) which is about 20mins long that is only 66.4mb and has transferred onto my iPod successfully. This video plays at 368kb/s whereas the video that will not transfer onto the iPod was encoded with an MPEG4 codec at 1000kb/s (I also tried transcoding with the XviD codec - still to no avail). I've tried dragging it into the Movie playlist and importing it, but it just wont go. I do not receive an error message or anything, it just continues to run as normal. EDIT: Some more tech-specs of the transcode: Profile = good quality video: 1000kb/s Audio: 96kb/s Stereo Video codec = MPEG4 Codec Resolution = 320x240 Video bitrate = 1000kb/s Framerate = 30.0 fps Channels = 2 channel stereo Audio bitrate = 96 kb/s Sample rate = 44100 Hz EDIT2: When trying to copy the video into the movies section of my iPod (rather than the iTunes library) I get the following message: MOVIE_NAME.mp4 was not copied to the iPod IPOD_NAME because it cannot be played on this iPod. Anybody any ideas? As I said, I've only just bought it so I've absolutely no idea what I'm doing ![]() Thanks for reading, Liam. PS: sorry this is kinda essay-like =P Last edited by JackSparrow : December 26th, 2006 at 10:51 AM. |

Strange. Try using Videora as that's what I use and haven't had any problems using that.
