Monitor changes resolutions automaticlly?
Hi, I have a wierd problem with my monitor where it changes resolutions automaticlly. It goes from 1024x768 to 860x680 every so often. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks.

Strange. What are you doing when it changes ?

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers to the latest version?

Im just browsing site, my graphics drivers are new, I just got this computer a few weeks ago. The monitor is 5 years old that, not sure if that as anything to do with it.

Try degaussing the monitor.

When it changes, can you change it back easily enough ?

How long has it been happening for ? Could be a problem with the latest drivers, have you tried rolling them back to a previous version ?

Its been happening for about 5-7 days. About the time I changed my screen resolution to 1024x768. That may be the problem....

With your monitor being old, there is the possibilty that it cannot handle that resolution. Try reducing the refresh rate when you have the resolution at 1024x768 and see how it goes.
