My NEW LCD Monitor is flickering???

Hey all,

I recently put together a new machine maybe a month ago. The "relevant" specs are as follows:

P4 3.0Ghz
1Gb of PC3200 Dual Channel Ram
SB-24 Live
ATI 9600XT 256MB
WinXP Pro SP2

My problem is this, I noticed when playing FS2004 that the textures in the background would flicker a lot. Either that or it would look very similar to heat radiation rising in the background on a warm day. At first I thought it was something with the game. But today I noticed that when using the Catalyst AI drivers for my ATI card (which I did d/load the latest drivers) the screen starts shaking, as if the V-Sync is off or something wierd like that (and it only happens while I am adjusting the 3-D properties). I have tried various refresh rates, tweaking with all of the 3-D settings, and nothing seems to help. Has anyone heard of this problem before, or do I need a new monitor? Thanks everyone!!!!

-seack

i have the same with a brand new 19" tft monitor. in my case it is always, not only when playing a specific game.
i guess the only thing you can do is take it back and hope it's still under warranty.

Well, Ive seen this problem before with my monitor and xorg (linux x server), I fixed the refresh rate and it stopped doing it. I would check and see if the refresh rate is right for that monitor.
