I have run the Microsoft update until it had nothing left.

As for the Ethernet Cards...you got me. I have not added anything since I purchased it. Based off of memory since it is not by me. It only has one jack for the Ethernet cable.

You can get your sound drivers from Gateway's Support site.

By the looks of it, you may need to download the Conexant drivers.

Doesn't this come with the Audio Device. I searched their web site but I could not find just a driver.

There are 2 exe files for this.

HXFSetup - Looks like nothing happens

Setup - I get this.



So I am still without audio.

Does it produce an install log ? This may give a reason as to why it failed.

When you press 'OK', does it just return you to the desktop ?

Do you update Windows regularly ? If so, have a look and see if it has AC'97 drivers as an optional download.

Some help``gateway mx 6027
Hello, with my poor English Lenguaje i send you, some tricks

first all i have the same machine MX 6027 XP HOME, I Reinstall the machine and the Modem and sound drivers from gateway web page didn`t work, I found the ac97 driver from (URL address blocked: See forum rules) ,,, i installed and ok..
driver says : ac97 two chanel ....
if you need also i can send you,,

but the modem driver , i couldn`t finded, i found some drivers , but nothing finction,
before the reload the notebook, the system says : ac97 data fax, all the drivers installed says : no signal ......

tell me , what modem driver dis you install..if you can send me to my e-mail , i apreciate your help.
