    PCI-Express x8 or x16? Which should I get?

I can get a motherboard with two PCI-Express x8 slots for relatively cheap. I have an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, and I'm looking at an NVidia GeForce 8300GS. Would a x8 slot hinder the performance of either card?

    Thanks for your time.

It would be best to get a PCI-Express x16 board instead of the x8. An x8 would limit the bandwidth available to the card and likely hinder performance.

Almost every board these days has a PCI-Express x16 slot, even the cheap ones.
