Hi Jecko22 and welcome to Dev Shed.
Does this only appear when Windows boots or is all graphics distorted at all times ?

If you can you may want to test your screen on another computer to wipe out the fact they may be an error with the screen.
- Make sure as well that the monitor cable is secure on to the graphics card.
You may all may want to try looking inside the case and making sure that the graphics card is secure on the motherboad..
But from what you have said, it sounds like a fault with your screen, look forward to your reply.

Ok, right so we no its not your screen.
Does your screen do it in safe mode as well, and all so have you installed anything new..

Do you have an OnBoard GPU? If so, you may need to configure your BIOS to choose the 9800 XT.

i am having the same problem with my ati radeon 9800 xt. it just randomly started happening one day. screen gets all distorted with static lines or boxes. i tried a new monitor and it did the same thing. my onboard gpu works fine with my current monitor (that's what i'm using now). i took apart my video card and cleaned with with isopropyl alcohol and qtips it was pretty dirty but that didn't help. i noticed the thermal paste on the gpu had turned to dust so i ordered some more thermal paste and recoated it. still no luck. i'm still trying to figure out what's going on. i updated drivers and all.
