Unhappy radeon 9600xt graphics corruption problems

hi, i have a Radeon 9600XT 256MB, a Gygabyte GA-7DXE motherboard, 512MB ram, Win XP. i just installed this new card with the latest driver 4.8, and when i play games like Doom 3 or Max Payne, after a few minutes, i always experience graphics corruption to the textures of the games, making them unplayable. please help me.

i think the resolution and the monitor dont care, because i tested this card on other two computers and the problem persists, that is, after a few minutes of playing 3D games, like Doom 3, Serious Sam SE or Max Payne, the textures become corrupted. strangely, there is no problem playing Far Cry! i already tried to install different versions of the driver. i have an Athlon XP 2600+, mobo Gigabyte GA-7DXE, 512MB ram (DDR 333, but the mobo supports only up to 266), Win XP PRO. please help me...
ciao

hi, i think my 512MB of ram should be enough to deal with all known games. maybe the problem is my old motherboard GA-7DXE with its 266Mhz DDR memory modules... heat issue, mmh i tried to touch the chip after turning off the computer, and it wasnt really very hot.

Have you guys got the latest catalyst drivers from the ati website? I think they're version 4.10.....I had some issues with Doom3 locking up on my 9600xt (although, from what I've heard every card has some issues with it), but after doing a clean sweep of my existing drivers with driver cleaner and then installing the new ones, everything runs great now.
