Recordable DVD Audio Disc
I am aware that, currently, one can record audio MP3 files on a DVD disc. However, is there a movement to create a standard for a recordable audio DVD? This would be a disc, for instance, on which one could record up to 4.7G (single sided disc) worth of music in either CD format or the current DVD audio format, and play the disc on existing DVD players, as well as the evolving HD DVD players. I personally think there would be a great market for this type of disc.
I understand that this is a hardware forum. However, I was hoping that someone might have insight on this topic, or can direct me to an appropriate forum. |

Wikipedia and the linked sites there contain the infos you are looking for. DVD-Audio is a standard and players and media are available. Google for it, you'll be surprised. Probably a bad surprise like it was for me since I could not find anything new besides 5.1 channels... I doubt this will ever get as broad attention as CD-audio did. M.
