You need to give us some more information.
What operating system are you using?
What kind of sound card do you have?
Did your sound ever work?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your sound card?

Going insane in the Brain
Hey every1 this is my 5th day without being able to play games or listen to music and am contemplating suicide . I have read and tried some of the advice on the nine pages listed under no sound, but sadly no sound. My nightmare began on PornoTube the site I was drawn into. After trying to Run a clip to no avail, my compter suddenly rebooted itself and I knew. Yup on my toolbar was a big red circle with an X, after rebooting advised me my compter had been infected and it was installing software to help before I lost important data. So a scan starts running without my permission and informs me I have like two hundred errors and it's gonna cost. Well right away I uninstall this software and reboot. The program is gone, but still on my toolbar a big red circle with an X saying the same thing. I quickly notice that during the reboot I did not hear the usual bells and whistles and hear I am. THE VITALS my system is a GATEWAY 500S purchased 2002, OS WINDOWS XP Home Edition service pack 3. I have added RAM, NVIDIA graphics and of course the Windows XP. I see in my Device Manager under Sound these titles Avance AC97 Audio, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Logitech Mic, Media Control devices..All with a yellow circle and black exclamation inside. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all drvrs, but get same results, I tried updates for all I could find and still no go, but now have new titles under sound such as; Microsoft Streaming Clock Proxy, MS Streaming Quality manager Proxy, MS Streaming Service Proxy, SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio this one I tried to reinstall. I spoke to Gateway thru online help told me I needed a new PCI card. Sorry so long any help appreciated GREATLY & THANK YOU.. DESPERATELY Alex
