Don't worry about memtest86 it woulnd't tell you why your mem isn't running dual channel. It would only tell you if one of the stick was bad, and in that case your compluter would be randomly crashing or wouldn't even boot. Also, memtest is more of a tool overclockers would use to see if their memory is stable at that higher speed. Oddly though, it seems as if one of your RAM slots is completely just dead.

But really I'm sorry but I don't really know what you can do now... it's all really wierd... are you absolutely 100% sure the realtek audio didn't re-enable itself in the BIOS? Is the realtek audio driver installed on your windows? Cuz usually when you install the motherboard drivers it installs itself automatically.

If anything, this is a problem with your motherboard. Try to get it replaced or something and hopefully you'll be able to have peace for a while lol...

yeah, seems like i best send the board back. incredibly tho, it has turned on with all the sound working fine the last few times. wierd innit? i haven't switched the power supply off and its ok at the moment. who knows when itll go down again though? still got the problem with ram so il be RMA-ifying me motherboard.
glad ya liked the tunes, i know the guitars was a bit gash but we were ravin ****ed at the time of recording. going to look into getting some tracks hosted online.
