Streaming Videos as Webcam

Hello

Is it possible to stream an AVI ("any" video) file just like a stream of a
webcam? My camera is dead and I'll participate on a video chat. I need
to send a video file just like a real webcam-captured image.

If this is not the right place to ask this question then please guide me where to post this?

Yes It is possible. I have found many times such webcams online. Try searching on google for fake webcam or say virtual webcam.
I think there's website called fakewebcam which serves this purpose. Anybody else having knowledge about this?
