Tri Monitor Set up
I currently have dual monitors set up using a dual head geforce 6800, this is great but things always opening right on the division is annoying so I'm thinking of adding ANOTHER monitor. I know this isn't unheard of and I got the impression from other threads that I can just use a pci video card and still stretch the desktop all the way around. I've also heard people running xp have had troubles with this kind of set up or that there is a major delay while windows move from one video card to the next.
I'm just looking for a cheap solution so any advice on this set up and what a good pci card would still hold up with the 6800 on certain wrap around gaming would be great. Thanks |

i have dual moniters with a similar config.
my primary moniter is on a geforce 5200 (shush ) and my secondary is in a cheap 'ol pci card from a rusty old computer. it works great.. enough.. the only problem i had is that.. wel.. THE GRAPHICS FRIKEN STINk.. on pci card that is. but thats what i get for being ghetto well yea its pretty easy you just have to go into the bios /comos whichever on it is and change the settings so that it boots on the right graphics card. well have fun ![]() |

if theres 2 cards, how is there a right card to boot on? Ii've heard you have to boot it from the pci card to get it too work but i will most definetly want my 6800 to still be running as the main one I mean, c'mon no pci card i get will be better than it.

also, doesn =If i use this set up for Surrond gaming, then will games have to be set graphically down so teh lower end pci card can hold up it'sed? that seems logical to me bu really not that cool.
I've seen some matrox parphelia cards that can built in 3 outputs which would be nice but they are like 400 dollars plus i would reallly hate to make my6800 go to waste. |

you go to the bios and change it. its default is tthe pci (at least on my comp) so i wen tand changed is btw i had to take it out now because my comp was getting too hot and was rebooting too much so i took the pci out and stuck a fan under there now and i only have 1 moniter. BUT the 6800 i think takes up 2 slots so i think youll be fine |
