Urgent Help:No Audio in my laptop
Hello All,
Suddenly my laptop has stopped playing any sound. I have checked all the settings and everything looks fine. I am not getting any error message. When I plug my headphones and test for the hardware it shows that it is getting an input but there is no output. I can't hear my voice when I test for the speaker but it shows that it is getting my voice. I have already gone through the restoration thing and driver installation but still no use. Please do let me know if you have an idea what could have gone wrong.

Do you have any yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager ?
This is probably a stupid question, but do you have the sound turned up ? It may sound so simple but you have no idea how many people actually overlook this.

Thanks for the response. No I don't have any yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager and the sound is also turned up. It's just not giving any output sound though it shows as getting the volume. Kinda weird.

I have a compaq presario c719u notebook. Just a random update and registry cleaner and my sound is gone. it didnt happen before. I have tried everything i can thiink of.
Recovery Manager (reinstalled all audio devices and no changes)
Device manager (exclamation marks on all my audio drivers, so updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled from that path etc.. nothing! It says its upto date and if i reinstall it it says. "error code 39 sound device may be missing or corrupted" shows up.
Tried disabling signature on boot trying f8 nothing happened.
Downloaded the drivers again from hp support. it downloads the zip file on my comp it just doesnt install.
I also tried chckng the sound devices . its windows default and the playback and recording is greyed out. no option to restore defaults.
pleaseeeee help!!!!! My sound card is Conexant HD audio Smart AMC HD2.
