VHS to soft copy (either mpg, qt or avi)
I was wondering if someone could explain the entire process of ripping content from a vhs and converting it to a soft copy format. What hardware/software is needed and what costs are involved? I have a client who would like to embed a movie clip on his website of a tv appearance. They only have the clip on a vhs video tape.
The cheapest way of converting would be preferred. Thanks in advance for any help. Jamie |

I've has limited success with an old ATI All in Wonder card I got off Ebay for $20. You output your VCR to the input on the card. It comes with some software to capture it. My original thinking was to convert VHS to DVD but the quality is poor. http://www.zipstorage.com/adsusb20dvdx.html shows a little box that does it too. I've never tried it but it might work.
