Video Card compatible with 5.1 Speaker System, or??
I have a Dell Dimension 8200. The Video Card is: 64MB DDR GEFORCE4 TI 4200, TVOUT. I was thinking of upgrading my Computer Speakers to a 5.1 system, but don't know if my Video card can utilize the capabilities of a 5.1 system. If not: 1) Up to what type of system would this card be adequate? and 2) What specific card(s) would be recommended for 5.1 that is great quality and value for the money? Thanks in advance for any assistance! I appreciate it! |

The video card doesn't do sound. Your soundcard is what you need to be thinking about for surround sound. The soundblaster audigy line is good. Look around, 5.1 is supported by most newer cards, or even some new onboard sound options.
