Video Card recommendation wanted
I'm looking to upgrade my vid card around the holiday season. Right now I have a Barton 2500 clocked to 3200 with 512 RAM and an ATI 9000 vid card with 64 RAM. Mostly the vid card will be for Halo 2, Sims 2, Tiger Woods 2004/2005 and maybe Half-Life 2. Also, a flat panel display might be in my future too. Can I get anything decent for about $100? My mobo supports AGP 4X/8X.
Thanks. |

You really won't get much for $100 for playing new games. Just a fact. Look here for comparisons, and look on newegg for prices.

Thanks. The problem with the objective ratings is that I don't know how to translate them into subjective ratings. I mean, how many frames per second do I need for Doom 3 to make the game enjoyable at 800x600?

You want at least 30fps or things will seem "laggy" in an action game. More=better, giving you some breathing room to handle cutscenes and other graphics intensive parts.
