Question Wireless Headphones

Hello All!

I had a question about wireless headphones for Tv's. My grandfather is getting hard of hearing. He turns the TV up to 30(out of 50) so he can hear everything that is being said. Its driving my grandmother nuts because she likes to listen to it quiertly and she wanted to know if there was something that she could buy for him to wear while watching tv.

I suggested (other than a pair of hearing aids) a pair of those wireless rechargeable headphones that you can plug into TVs. I did have a question about them though. If my grandfather plugs them into the TV, will sound still come from the speakers on the TV? The reason I ask is because my grandmother still wants to be able to listen to the TV at a normal volume while grandpa can listen to it as loud as he needs.

Thanks!

I would say that it would depend on the headphones, but most of the ones I have read about, you would only then get the sound from the headphones.

Not necessarily, if you split the audio channels so that there are two outputs, one can go directly to the tv (or stereo, whatever) and the other would go to the headphone output. If you go to any local electronics store, they should have audio splitters there pretty cheap.

He wouldnt happen to mean hearing aids would he?

An Update: My grandmother took him to the VA hospital in Iowa and they are having his ears tested.

I will update once I get more information.
