    hello ! i want to ask a silly question
    suppose i type in mysql prompt

    >select * from people
    >where name="abc";<enter> <---------however , i type it wrongly , it should be "def"

    so what can i do to modify my input statement ??

    You'll get a whole new result with any row where name="def". The previous select command has nothing to do with it...
