I just installed mysql-3.22.32 on my redhat 6.1 system. Now i want to configure php for working with mysql. I typed (following a tutorial) "./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --with-apache=/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.12 --enable-track-vars". At the end i got an error: cannot find mysqlclient library under /usr/local/mysql. I'm sure I installed mysql in /usr/local/mysql. Whats the reason for this problem? Please help

    Try just

    ./configure --with-mysql --with-apache...etc

Sometimes configure has trouble finding the client library if the full path is given
