Greetings everyone, I'm a computer science major and this is my first time ever running mysql commands, it's on debian linux, so I basically installed the mysql-server package from the package manager. First after I ran mysql in terminal, I ran CONNECT, the next command gave me this output:
Code:
mysql> CREATE DATABASE gregs_list;
ERROR 1044 (42000): Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'gregs_list'
So that was run as my normal user but it won't let me run anything as root, I get:
Code:
root@enygmatix:/home/eddie_nygma# mysql
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Is this solveable, is there something I'm doing wrong, what's the problem here?
