I don't have an issue providing answers to help others.
I do it on my website and on other forums as well and will continue to so with no consideration at all for what you think about.
If you prefer, I can re-register from another pc with a new name and then PM people with links to my website or other forums where I will post the answer instead of here.

ok dad
All I can do is repeat what I said before. If you don't like it, ban me and I'll do the last paragraph.

r937 posted what could only be described as a friendly, 'oh well nevermind' reply and you post the following.

Did your wife/girlfriend run off with a forum moderator?

What he said in his reply was
Quote:
sure, go ahead and give people answers -- just don't do it in any thread where i'm trying to teach somebody something
I exercised my right to reply explaining why I will not accept that and the alternatives I will take.
I can't be any fairer than that.
Afaik these forums are open to every registered member and any member can post whatever they like (as long as it is with the rules obviously) if it will help the op. In this case my initial post clearly helped the op and was appreciated by him/her
If I am breaking any rules then ban me and I am just as happy going to my posted plan B otherwise r937 can stop wasting my time with rubbish instructions that are not enforceable.

UPDATE
someone just contacted me after finding this thread in a search for DELETE, and pointed out that my reply (either post #2, or post #4, or possibly both) could be interpreted as hostile
once again, i've learned that light-hearted sarcasm is not easily conveyed over teh interwebs, despite the use of what i thought was an appropriate smiley
there's a popular tutorial web site out there that says you can use DELETE * FROM tablename, and of course when that doesn't work, he went searching
and yeah, finding this thread would not have been a very favourable first impression of devshed
so i apologize for that (and the shítstorm that seemed to follow)
thanks for contacting me, AJ, and i do hope that you will come back and try devshed again

Agreed, yet then again if someone was to look at a post count in excess of 25,000 they would likely be able to guess that the person is one who helps a lot of individuals (here and in other forums), and understand sometimes that it is difficult to read tone or interpret how something is meant.
To me the one outweighs the other, I'm likely to give a person like that more doubt.
