    I'm creating a stats table that keeps track of multiple database changes for dates that the database is modified... i need to remember the DBName and Date and i don't want duplicates when there is already a DBName with Date that is being changed... i can't get it to allow more than one date occurence... any ideas?

    Your question is a bit confusing, could you please give some example data of how you want your table to be filled?

    I am not sure if this is what you want
    but here is what I would try or something
    close to this (it's off the top of my head):

    create table dbtracker (
    dbName_pk varchar(32) not null,
    dbDate_pk datetime(8) not null,
    comments varchar(128) null,
    primary key(dbName_pk, dbDate_pk)
    );

    This is quick & dirty, hope it helps
