    My server people say they have mysql.But
    when i try to ftp and use mysql commands
    they dont work.could someone help me out.

    I don't think that is how to send mysql commands. You use a program like mysql (downloadable from the mysql website http://www.mysql.com/ ) enter your login info and type the commands in there.

    You either have to have a mysql client on your own computer to use, or be able to telnet into the server and use thier mysql client.

    From the command line, if you have telnet, use:

    mysql -uuser -ppassword

    Are you sure you've got an account set up?
