I want to make a quick preview option on my front page where i return the article title and then say 200 letters from the body of the text.
Is there an way to select say only 200 chars of the text field rather than return the whole thing and discard most of it? |

mysql does have a substring function. You'll have to check the manual, I don't have the parameters in hand.
