    Hi all,

The mysql install was easy, I can create db's and tables and view them (w/ root passwd) but when I try to access mysql via php I get: Failed: Access denied for user: 'root@mank.domain.net' (Using password: YES). I can query other mysql servers via php, just not my own. I am using the same login/pass as I do from the command line. What could be wrong?

    Thanks in advance,

    Patrick

Check the host columns in the user and db tables in the mysql database. You have to make sure you have access to log in from domain: mank.domain.net. It probably says 'localhost' in there now, which would be why the command line works. If the domain.net host isn't in there, that's why you're not being allowed to connect. Use the GRANT command to create another entry, using mank.domain.net as the host. Remember to flush priviledges, then try again.

Let me know if this isn't the problem or you need more help.
