I'm new commer of this forum,now I want to install MySQL on Linux Mandrake release 6.1. I follow instructions on installing in the documents but when I type "make" then after a while it appeared a information such as make [2 ]error ..... Would you please tell me which i must do and show me a detail install instruction of any experimental person who have installed successful MySQL on Linux Mandrake 6.1. Thank you very much and hope the help come soon. |

What exact file names? >>t appeared a information such as make [2 ]error .... What error exactly? Keep in mind, you can run this command to save the output to a file: script -a ~/output When done, type: script -q This will save the output to a file called "output" to your home directory. Just telling us you've got an error doesn't tell us anything. So please be specific. |

when i type:
shell>mysqladmin version the statement such as follow: mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through sockets check that mysql is running and that the socket exists |
