seems like there's a lot of you guys usining php.....is there a reason for this? I'm currently contemplating doing next Web project in Python (with mySQL, Apache 1_3_9)
Any reasons against?

Actually, I'm barely familiar with Python. The reason for this is the same as the reason I wouldn't use it... virtually no user support. One only needs to compare the number of posts on devshed regarding php and python to see this.
That said, there could be resources out there that I have no knowledge of....

There is actually quite a large and helpful Python user community - it just seems as though few Python users frequent Devshed.
Try the python tutor mailing list - for more info, see www.python.org
Also the newsgroup:
comp.lang.python (I think...)
I personally use Python for all my CGI stuff - it works great.
