I'm looking for any tools / technology available to efficiently replicate / backup the data in a large sized mysql database on a remote location? My primary objective is to perform an extensive query based analysis on the database. The preferred alternative is always to perform it locally. Also if a database backup is available on the local server, that helps anyway. I am not looking for any performance improvement on the remote server but of course, the speed shouldn't go down.
