I get the following error when trying to connect to my ISPs server using PHP. "MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111)". I've got no idea what to do.

Ummm, never mind. I had to add quotation marks (which is not in the tutorial) and change localhost to the actual server name.

Try this see what happens
/etc/inet.d/mysql start or else the path to mysqld/mysqld & eg. /usr/local/bin/mysqld & |
