my job is a server administrator. can someone help me, how i should give my clients the access to use MySQL to create and use their databases ?

i know the method of adding users, granting privileges and using other commands.

but, (so far my knowlegde) MySQL keeps all the databases (of all the users) in a single directory. so, if any user creates a database say 'board', then how can other user create his own database named 'board' ?

isn't there any way to distinguish the two database 'board' of two diffirent users ?

is it possible to allow a client to create and access his databases in a particular subdirectory only ?

I'm not sure, but I think I remember seeing something in the manual. Check there. What are you running?
