    Cannot SET autocommit=0 from PhpMyAdmin

    Hello;

    I am trying to set SET autocommit to zero using these commands
    Code:
    SET GLOBAL init_connect='SET autocommit=0';
    or
    Code:
    set autocommit = 0
    But everytime I
    Code:
    SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES
    I see autocommit = ON. Is it not possible to set autocommit to zero from phpmyadmin?

    Thanks

    Like all PHP applications, phpmyadmin starts a new MySQL connection on every page load, so no session values are preserved.
