I need basic step by step instructions on setting up mySQL using a Win 98 machine as a 'localhost' for development purposes. For details required, assume you are talking to a fence post. Also, any comments on adding Coldfusion Express to the mix would be appreciated. This is my 1st post, so if my inquiry is already worn out, be gentle...

Am being gentle.
![]() I had a similar problem on my Win98 and Win2000. I solved it with the following command: mysqld-shareware --skip-name-resolve That worked for me, and I ma currently using it for develpoment purposes with no problems. yes, I connect to it via mysql_connect("localhost"); |
