if i telnet into my web host, i can connect to the mysql db server just fine, but using the exact same host, userid, and password in a php script (that does nothing at all except tries to connect), i get an access denied error.
my webhost says everyone else using it is fine. anyone? |

stumbled on a fix:
the php script works if i specify localhost.localdomain and not just localhost. go figure. |
