I have access to mysql as root, but i canīt get my "dummy" user to login. I get the same "access denied" stuff. Though i have followed the "mysql admin" tutorial to the letter several times. I have no idea how to solve this.

Can you show the code you used to add this user or post your user and db tables? did you do a flush privledges or mysqladmin reload after adding this user?
