    Question Unable to [edit, copy, delete] via PHPMyadmin

    I try to edit some field today in a table of mine via PHPMyadmin and i couldn't

    Code:
    create table works
    (
      clientsID tinyint not null,
      task tinytext not null,
      price smallint not null,
      lastvisit date not null,
      foreign key (clientsID) references clients(ID)
    );
    This is the definiton of the table that iam trying to edit its data via phpmyadmin, but i see no edit option.

    In the following table though i see [edit, copy, delete] options.
    Why not the same in the first table as well?

    Code:
    create table clients
    (
      ID tinyint not null auto_increment primary key,
      name varchar(30) not null,
      phone varchar(10) not null,
      hits tinyint not null default 0,
      money smallint not null default 0,
      unique index (name)
    );

    Yes all privilges.

    All my tables can be dited, copy or deleted, except of that table.

    i dont if its that but it the table that does not support editing dont have a 'unique index' field.

    Maybe its that?

    I'm not particularly familiar with phpMyAdmin but I would guess it probably requires a primary or unique key before it allows editing. Otherwise it has no reliable way to limit the UPDATE to just a single row.
    Recycle your old CD's, don't just trash them

    iam trying to add a unique key by:

    Code:
    create table works
    (
      clientsID tinyint not null,
      task tinytext not null,
      price smallint not null,
      lastvisit date not null,
      foreign key (clientsID) references clients(ID)
      unique index lastvisit
    );
    but the sytem doesn't let me because it finds duplicate entries.

    how can i do ot without loosign my data?
