Unable to Install MySql 5.6.10 on Windows 7
I have tried several times now, but there seems to be no way to install MySql.
I downloaded the .msi installer, went through the setup process... It installs the service, but MySql refuses to start up successfully. At the end of the installation, it tries to set some server settings making assumptions that the service is running, but it is not. Thus I get the error "Unable to update security settings. Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts."
I have tried this several different ways, and I'm running out of ideas.
System:
Windows 7 x64
Norton (tried both while enabled and disabled)
ANY IDEAS?
