    Hi everyone,

I have a question. When you do the following query on a column which is a VARCHAR():

    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica">code:</font><HR><pre>
SELECT * FROM table WHERE column LIKE '%something%'
    [/code]

the query is not case sensitive. But when you do the same query on a column which is a blob, the query is suddenly case sensitive. Does anyone know how I can do a non-case-sensitive LIKE query on a blob???

    Bye,

    Marc

You can't. BLOBs are Binary Large OBjects, meaning that the data isn't stored textually so a case-insensitive search isn't possible. If you are storing text only in the BLOB and don't want case sensitivity you should use a TEXT datatype.
